Turkey is a wonderfully flexible main course when it comes to wine pairings. It's light enough that white wine works, yet sturdy enough to be accompanied by a light red like a Pinot Noir or, my personal favorite, a Beaujolais. Since Thanksgiving is a celebratory feast, after all, it's a happy coincidence that Champagne and other sparkling wine goes great with turkey as well.
If your Thanksgiving involves red meat rather than turkey, you can always go for a heavier red like Cabernet Sauvignon.
Regardless of what you choose, make sure you put some thought into your wine selection. It can make the meal!
